Seamless Spa Delivery Starts With Zero Guesswork.
Spa Site Feasibility: 6-Point Self-Check
Before ordering your spa or booking delivery, click through each checkpoint below to review WA council rules, required clearances, and site red flags.
1 Clearance: Boundary Fence ⌄
Rule of Thumb
Standard boundary fences are 1,800 mm. If using the fence as a barrier, the top 900 mm must be completely clear of climbable foot-holds. Spas should sit at least 1,000–1,200 mm away to allow maintenance access and avoid climb hazards.
Common Red Flags
Retaining walls, raised garden beds, taps, or fence cross-rails located within 900 mm of the fence top that create a climbable step into the spa area.
2 Clearance: Internal Pool Fence ⌄
Rule of Thumb
Minimum 1,200 mm barrier height with self-closing, self-latching gates that open outwards (away from the spa unit).
Common Red Flags
Gates swinging inward toward the spa, ground clearances under the fence exceeding 100 mm, or horizontal rails wider than 10 mm within the 900 mm Non-Climbable Zone.
3 Delivery Pathway Clearance ⌄
Rule of Thumb
Spas transported vertically on dedicated dollies require at least 950 mm to 1,100 mm width and 2,200 mm vertical clearance along the entire path from the driveway to the pad.
Common Red Flags
Projecting gas meters, wall-mounted air conditioners, hot water units, low roof eaves, downpipes, or stepped paths narrower than 950 mm.
4 Crane Lift Check ⌄
Rule of Thumb
If side access has steep stairs, tight 90° brick returns, or passages narrower than 900 mm, an over-roof crane lift is required. TotalSPA conducts direct site and crane reach assessments.
Common Red Flags
Overhead Western Power street cables running directly in front of the setup zone, tall verge trees, or zero street parking that prevents safe outrigger placement.
5 Base Foundation & Ground Structure ⌄
Rule of Thumb
Requires a 100 mm–150 mm steel-reinforced concrete slab engineered for a minimum 2.5–3.5 tonnes operational wet weight. Decks must be engineered specifically for point-load spa support.
Common Red Flags
Unreinforced pavers laid directly on sand (inevitably sink, warping the spa acrylic and voiding manufacturer structural warranty) or unlevel ground.
6 Electrical Supply & Switchboard Capacity ⌄
Rule of Thumb
Dedicated 15A, 25A, 32A, or 40A hardwired sub-circuit directly from the switchboard, complete with dedicated RCD protection and a weather-proof lockable rotary isolator within site line.
Common Red Flags
Older ceramic fuse switchboards lacking modern RCD safety switches, or full boards with insufficient spare capacity requiring a main switchboard upgrade.
